Focusing on Language Structure
-Does that word sound right?
-Can we say it that way? Do people talk that way?
-What word would fit here?
-Does that word sound right?
-Try reading ahead for more clues.
-Let's go back and read it again.
-I noticed that you were listening to yourself read to decide if it sounded right. Great!
Focusing on Letter-sound Correspondence
-What does it begin with? Could it be...

-What letters do you think you would see in...?
-It could be..., but look at the letters.
